Your donations will enable us to expand the NDCC Blowfly Cricket Inclusive Centre, which provides an opportunity for 5 to 12 year olds of all abilities to experience cricket.
Project Cost: $3,000 – Community Target: $1,500
Make a donation to BlowFly Cricket Club between 17 May and 20 June 2021 and the Turramurra and Lindfield Community Bank will match every dollar donated until they reach their fundraising goal.
Donations can also be made over the counter at either the Turramurra or Lndfield Community Bank.
About BlowFly Cricket:
BlowFly Cricket provides young people with autism, special needs and/or disabilities the chance to play organised sport. It also allows families to be involved and enjoy seeing their children having fun and just enjoying life.
BlowFly Cricket provides a positive and inclusive environment that allows each participant to learn and develop cricket skills at their own pace. Participants also develop their coaching skills through the unique “Uncoachables Coaching the Uncoachables” program and have these formally recognised through Cricket NSW and Cricket Australia. The club has developed relationships with local cricket clubs, coaching organisations, other organisations supporting people with special needs and professional teams to provide additional opportunities for participants to play and coach cricket. The goal is for players with disabilities to be provided with clearly defined pathways to national and international representation in cricket.
Most importantly, BlowFly Cricket is all about having fun and sharing experiences on and off the field. The club encourages all families to participate in the games, fundraising and social activities.
Our Double the Impact Project:
BlowFly Cricket is seeking funding to expand the NDCC BlowFly Cricket Inclusive Centre in the 2021/22 Season. This Centre was established in 2020 to provide 5-12-year-old children of all abilities the opportunity to experience cricket for the first time. A team of “Uncoachable Coaches” (a group of BlowFly’s senior players) lead the sessions. These coaches have completed the Level 1 Community Coaching Course through Cricket NSW and Cricket Australia. They are now passing on their skills and knowledge to encourage more children with special needs to take up cricket.
The NDCC BlowFly Cricket Inclusive Centre requires $3,500-$4,000 p.a. to operate. The $3,000 funding we seek will cover the cost of coaching fees, trophies, and uniforms for the new players. Additional expenses will be covered through BlowFly Cricket’s regular fundraising activities and player registration fees. Hornsby Shire Council waives the ground hire fees at Mark Taylor Oval, which significantly reduces our operating expenses and allows the Centre to be financially viable.
Who will benefit from this fundraising initiative?
There are two primary beneficiaries of this project:
1. The 5-12-year-old players who are otherwise unable to participate in organised sport; and
2. The “Uncoachable Coaches” who each receive a $50 coaching fee for each cricket session they attend. The Uncoachables are young adults with autism or other intellectual/physical disabilities who, unlike their peers, struggle to find part-time employment. The Inclusive Centre will offer an opportunity for them to be financially rewarded for their efforts and develop a work ethic and financial life skills.

Terms and Conditions:
Donate to the BlowFly Cricket Fundraising Initiative and the Turramurra and Lindfield Community Bank will match dollar for dollar all funds raised in the period between 17 May and 20 June 2021 up to $1,500.
Any donations over this amount will not be matched – but will be received by BlowFly Cricket at the close of the campaign.
BlowFly Cricket does not have DGR status; however, it will provide donors with a receipt at the close of the campaign (as per our conditions of participation).
